Colourful attire, lots of mouthwatering food and drinks, a strong bond of togetherness between colleagues and their families and spiritual blessings from a renowned man of religion marked the order of the evening at Fiji’s largest private hospital on Friday last week.
The management and staff of Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) Hospital in Legalega, Nadi united in happiness to celebrate Christmas, exchange gifts and mark the first year of successful operations at the 100-bed state-of-the-art hospital.
Gracing the occasion with his unlimited blessings and word of God was Pastor Josefa Naka who came all the way from Sigatoka to be with the management and staff of the hospital which is now providing 24-hours of service, seven-days-a-week since August this year.
While addressing the staff members, Pastor Naka said success only comes through God’s will and a person with a clean and righteous heart will never fail in his or her endeavours.
Citing many verses from the Holy Bible and referring to men of God, Pastor Naka reminded all staff about hard work and honesty.
“Go out and do your best with a clean heart and success and promotion will follow through God’s grace,” Pastor Naka said.
He also blessed the hospital and its founder and chief executive officer Parvish Kumar (who was away in New Zealand) together with the entire management and staff and wished everyone a successful year in 2025.
PSH operations manager Ritesh Kumar said the management had decided to coincide the first anniversary celebrations together with the Christmas function as the hospital was very busy with clinical commitments in July when it turned a year old.
“It has been a wonderful one-year journey so far and we have already made many headlines with our unprecedented offerings in the medical sector, and we look forward to a successful new year,” Mr Kumar said.
PSH was officially opened by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka on July 4, last year and is now the largest and most modern state-of-the-art specialty hospital in the entire Pacific Rim.
Meanwhile, PSH founder and CEO Parvish Kumar says the hospital is going through some very exciting times with great plans for the immediate near future and long-term goals and objectives slowly building momentum and taking shape.
“In a nutshell, we are going to launch our hyperbaric chamber and a special incentive for Fiji’s sugarcane farmers next week and our new five-storey building which sits adjacent to our current building will be ready in two-months’ time also,” Mr Kumar said.
“The new building will be housing our brand-new MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machine which is a large, tube-shaped machine that uses radio waves and a powerful magnetic field to create images of the inside of the body.
“The new building will also have our medical drug manufacturing plant that will be operational by August 2025.
“There will be more good news in 2025 as we go along.”
