Nadi is centre of innovation, says Esrom

THE Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has long been one of Fiji’s most dynamic and influential business body, according to Finance Minister Esrom Immanuel.

At the Christmas Cocktail & and Dinner Night held last Friday Mr Immanuel commended the members and leadership of the NCCI for playing a vital role in shaping Fiji’s economy.

“Your voice, your activism, and your leadership will shape not just the Western Division but Fiji’s economic direction as a whole,” he said.

“So, for this I offer my sincere appreciation.”

He said Nadi was not merely a gateway for global business, but a gateway for a vision.

“It is a centre for innovation, enterprise and opportunity.

“And the Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has consistently provided the platform upon which these trends have flourished.

“You have built networks, nurtured ideas, encouraged bold investments, and stood firm to progress.”

Mr Immanuel said the Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry does more than just represent businesses.

“It strengthens the backbone of Fiji’s economy.

“Your policy submissions, your engagement with small and large enterprises and your insistence on improving the business environment, have enabled the government to understand the little needs of the private sector.

“You have kept us accountable; you have kept us focused and you have ensured that Nadi remains vibrant and competitive as a Universal Commercial Hub.”

Mr Immanuel emphasised the private sector was the engine of Fiji’s economy, reaffirming government’s commitment.

“And institutions like the Nadi Chamber of Commerce keeps that engine running at full strength most of the time.

“This government is pro-business, this government welcomes investments, and this government will protect and cultivate enterprises.”
